  • Photon Commerce's AI, OCR, and natural language processing technologies to achieve usually 94-98% accuracy with no human touch across all document fields, then its human-in-the-loop service verifies data to get it to 99%+.

Turn around times per document can be 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, and 24 hours depending on batch sizes.

The Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solution automates the process to extract data from complex, unstructured documents.

Data received by the user is 99%+ accurate and does not need any further review or correction. This means readily usable data from day one. Near 100% document accuracy means you never need to look over your shoulder on quality.

  • Most of our customers either email the files or integrate through an API.

    Suppliers or customers

simply email "customerinvoices@photoncommerce.com". Photon's AI process the email bodies and attachments, send Advance Shipping Notices and other alerts to the respective parties (shippers, suppliers, logistics teams, customers) on the status of invoices, payments, shipments, and receipts.

API: The customers’ ERP, SCM, AP system, web app, mobile app, or RPA system sends invoices/documents to our API, then our API returns the structured, validated, and error-free data to that system, or another system. Notifications are automated also however the enterprise would like.

Web app: On our website, we have an enterprise file management platform where users drag and drop documents into the “Inbox” folder, then the desired data files are outputted automatically.

Mobile app: Snap a photo of your invoice, bill, shipping label, or trade document to validate data and unlock insights.

  • Traditional Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology immediately fails to capture structured documents, especially complex trade documents. What makes them so complex is that they could have barcodes, zones, tables, signatures, handwriting, stamps, and an unlimited number of formats.

Industrial invoices, packing slips, bills of lading, proof of deliveries, rate confirmations, customs forms, insurance forms, and other shipping documents and forms are notoriously complex. OCR software providers fail to guarantee satisfactory levels of accuracy for documents.

  • Photon is SOC 2 and GDPR attested. Photon can identify personal data and even scrub incoming data of personally identifiable data if needed.

Photon is able to delete data on any accounts to be compliant with GDPR. Photon is in full control of the data and can delete personal data promptly on demand.

Data is always encrypted at rest and in-transit. You own your own data. Data is retained for the term of each customer relationship, or tailored to the specific needs of the customer.

  • Depending on enterprise workflows, we can be up and running within 1 day to 1 week. We designed this system to be extremely lightweight and blazingly fast. Of course enterprises with complex workflows may take longer, and we charge accordingly.

We designed the solution from day one to also be friendly to SMBs, adopting this even with self-serve. If a customer just uses email first to email in invoices, then that is up and running within a day.

  • Photon Commerce uses AI, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and natural language processing technologies for its Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solution. The architecture involves automated extraction of data from complex, unstructured documents, such as invoices, remittances, receipts, contracts, bills of lading, bank statements, and purchase orders with 99%+ accuracy.

To feed documents into Photon, there are several integration mechanisms available:

  • Photon is a UIPath Advanced Technology Partner, Microsoft partner, NVIDIA partner, and others. Photon partners with Dooap for Microsoft Dynamics integrations. Depending on the RPA solution, we can custom make a component within about 2 weeks.

  • 75% of invoices are manually processed, according to the US Federal Reserve.

Over 50% of American businesses still process their invoices on paper or PDF. The reason is because today data sharing between companies is inefficient.

Surprisingly, even the industry leading logistics companies, like Fedex, UPS, Flexport, and other distribution, import, and manufacturing enterprises, still process a lot of paperwork and PDFs from their suppliers.

The most convenient and common way to share data between organizations is email, or in the logistics sector, packing slips and invoices included in the shipments. Electronic Data Interchange (EDIs) protocols in the supply chain are horribly broken. They are extremely difficult and expensive to generate, transmit, and receive, requiring months of implementation.

EDIs and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems were made for large enterprises, not SMBs, who need light-weight and low-cost solutions to data sharing.

  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDIs) protocols in the supply chain are horribly broken. They are extremely difficult and expensive to generate, transmit, and receive, requiring months of costly implementation. EDIs and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems were made for large enterprises, not SMBs, who need light-weight and low-cost solutions to data sharing. In the supply chain, even enterprises must interact with SMBs, including logistics providers, trucks, manufacturers, importers, retailers, distributors, warehouses, and fulfillment centers.

Some businesses also do not have the appropriate leverage over their suppliers to compel them use their system. Suppliers do not want to use hundreds of different systems that all of their customers use. That's why today the most common mode of data sharing between companies is PDF and paper.
